The maiden edition of “Experience Volta In Accra”, held at the El-Stadium on Saturday, 13th December, transformed the heart of the capital into a vibrant celebration of Ewe heritage.
The event brought together culture enthusiasts, traditional leaders, creatives and members of the Volta diaspora to experience the depth and beauty of Volta traditions without traveling outside Accra. From the colorful décor to the pulsating drum rhythms, the atmosphere reflected the pride, unity and rich history of the Ewe people.

Various Ewe sub-groups, including the Anlos, Agortimes, Kpandos and others, made bold cultural statements through traditional dances, music, regalia and storytelling. Traditional attire, beads and symbols worn by performers further emphasized identity and heritage.
Beyond entertainment, “Experience Volta In Accra” served as a cultural education platform, especially for the younger generation and non-Ewes eager to learn about Volta traditions.
Food exhibitions featuring local delicacies, alongside craft displays and cultural narrations, added depth to the experience. The event reinforced the importance of preserving and promoting indigenous culture, proving that Ewe traditions remain relevant, dynamic and proudly alive in modern Ghana.

Championed by the Council of State member for the Volta Region H. E. Gabriel Tanko Kwame Atokple, the Tanko foundation was the backbone of the event partnering Ewe 24 tv.
