A member of the New Patriotic Party’s National Communication Team, Senyo Amekplenu, has questioned the relevance of arguments advanced by United Party spokesperson Solomon Owusu over the annulment of the 2024 parliamentary results in Kpandai.
Amekplenu asked if voters who supported the president in Kpandai were brought in from the Northern Region, implying that attempts to cast doubt on the constituency’s voting patterns are misplaced. He maintained that the annulment is on weak grounds and should be examined strictly on legal grounds rather than being politicized.
According to Amekplenu, the High Court’s decision, which is being challenged, undermines the credibility of voters in Kpandai. He described the annulment as an irrelevant development being used by the current NDC government to set a bad precedent, warning that allowing such decisions to stand without scrutiny could open the floodgates for future election results to be challenged on weak grounds.
