The Accra Regional Police Command has taken two women into custody following the alleged assault of a 12-year-old girl in the La Roman JHS School area, after a complaint was filed by the child’s mother.
The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday, December 30, 2025. According to the mother, her daughter sustained visible injuries after being attacked by three women without provocation. Police investigations revealed that the situation escalated from an earlier altercation between the girl and a seven-year-old boy related to the suspects. The suspects allegedly brought the girl to their residence, where the assault took place.

Two of the suspects, Precious Giftan Mesopeh (22) and Princess Giftan Mesopeh (25), were arrested on December 31 and are assisting police with the investigation. Their mother, Priscilla Novishie Wornyo (49), a fashion designer, is reported to have travelled to the Volta Region, and authorities are actively working to locate her.
The arrested women have been formally charged and are expected to appear in court on Monday, January 5, 2026.
The Accra Regional Police Command has reminded the public to avoid violence, especially in disputes involving children, and urged parents and community members to use lawful avenues for conflict resolution.
“The Command further urges the public to respect the law and protect the rights and welfare of children at all times,” the statement added.
The case has reignited discussions on child protection and the importance of non-violent approaches to conflict within communities.
