As the 2024 general elections approach, several candidates and supporters are planning to win by any means necessary.

Supporters of Ghana’s two major political parties, John Mahama and Dr. Bawumia, have been active on social media to promote their candidates.

Citizens are allowed to proclaim their support for the candidate they believe is most qualified to lead Ghana.

However, a frightening video has emerged on social media, depicting a gang of young people physically beating an old man who announced his determination to vote for Dr. Bawumia.

The teenagers, who vehemently dislike Dr. Bawumia, punched and slapped the old guy. Luckily, a trotro driver intervened and drove away before the situation worsened.

The video, which was posted on X (previously Twitter), provoked uproar online.

The caption read, “The youths started beating someone’s father in a trotro because he said he’ll vote NPP again.”

This incident highlights the dangers of political polarization and the need for tolerance and respect for differing opinions during the election season.
