The newly assebled train purchased by Ghana has been involved in an accident.

The new train imported to Ghana by the government has been involved in an accident during a test drive.

A test drive happened today on the newly constructed Tema – Mpakadan railway before a date for commercial would be announced.

According to Minister of Railway John Peter Amewu, the collision occurred when a Kia truck, left unattended on the rails, obstructed the train’s path.

Radar systems, crucial for obstruction detection, were pending installation.

Fortunately, all passengers are safe with no injuries.

The truck driver has since reported himself to the Ghana Police Service.
