From Accra to Berlin: Maltiti Sayida Sadick Receives IPPFoRB Commendation Following German Government Nomination

Multiple Award-winning journalist and broadcaster Maltiti Sayida Sadick of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) has received a congratulatory letter from the International Panel of Parliamentarians for Freedom of Religion or Belief (IPPFoRB) Caucus following her nomination by the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany to participate in its prestigious Visitor’s Programme on Religion and Integration.

In a letter signed by the Office of the Chairperson of the IPPFoRB Caucus, Honorable Zuwera Ibrahima Mp for Salaga South

the organization described the nomination as a remarkable recognition of Ms. Sadick’s professionalism, dedication to journalism, and unwavering commitment to promoting informed public discourse on issues of national and global importance.
According to the letter, her selection is a testament to the confidence placed in her ability to represent Ghana with distinction during the international exchange programme, which brings together journalists and professionals to engage in dialogue on religion, integration, and social cohesion in Germany.

The IPPFoRB Caucus further acknowledged the indispensable role of responsible journalism in advancing freedom of religion or belief, promoting peaceful coexistence, and strengthening inclusive societies. It expressed delight that Ms. Sadick’s contributions to the media landscape have been recognized through the distinguished opportunity.

“We are confident that your participation in the programme will enrich your professional experience while creating valuable opportunities for dialogue, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas on religion, integration, and social cohesion,” the letter stated.

The Caucus also expressed optimism that the knowledge and insights gained during the programme would further strengthen Ms. Sadick’s impactful journalism and contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s media and national conversations on diversity, inclusion, and freedom of religion or belief.

The German Government’s Visitor’s Programme is designed to deepen international understanding by bringing together professionals from across the world to engage with Germany’s democratic institutions, policies, and multicultural society. Participants interact with government officials, parliamentarians, academics, civil society leaders, and religious communities while exploring issues relating to integration, religious freedom, and social cohesion.

Maltiti Sayida Sadick’s nomination adds to a growing list of international recognitions for the Ghanaian journalist, whose work has focused on development communication, governance, women’s empowerment, health advocacy, and amplifying the voices of underserved communities.

The IPPFoRB Caucus concluded by extending its warmest congratulations and wishing her a fruitful, enlightening, and successful participation, expressing confidence that she would continue to make significant contributions to journalism and national development upon her return to Ghana.
