In a bold push to revive its struggling operations, the leadership of the Tema Oil Refinery has unveiled a powerful new fleet of vehicles — a long-awaited logistical lifeline that managers say will finally restore momentum to the nation’s premier refining facility.
The refreshed fleet includes eight sparkling Mitsubishi utility vehicles, three robust Toyota Coaster buses, two heavy-duty industrial forklifts, and several other critical operational units designed to strengthen transport, maintenance, and logistics support across the refinery grounds.
This intervention arrives after years of crippling logistical setbacks. TOR had not received major transport and operational reinforcements since 2013 — a gap that officials say weakened productivity, slowed critical processes, and placed enormous strain on workers who continued to carry the refinery through turbulent years.
Management described the new equipment as a decisive turning point in TOR’s recovery drive, praising the relentless endurance and loyalty of staff who, despite constraints, kept the refinery’s mission alive.
Leadership also extended profound appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama and Energy and Green Transition Minister John Jinapor, crediting their policy backing and sustained commitment to the refinery’s rebirth.
According to management, the renewed logistical strength is not merely a procurement milestone — but a signal that TOR’s long-delayed comeback has truly begun.
