Ketu North Member of Parliament, Hon. Edem Agbana, has led a series of sod-cutting ceremonies to mark the commencement of key education and health infrastructure projects across his constituency, reaffirming his commitment to grassroots development.

The events led by the Municipal Chief Executive Rev. Amenaki brought together traditional leaders, community members, and the Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, whose presence underscored government’s resolve to improve social services in underserved communities.

Speaking at the ceremonies, Hon. Edem Agbana emphasized that investment in education and healthcare remains a top priority for his office and the government. He noted that the selected projects were based on pressing community needs identified through consultations with residents and local authorities.

The MP expressed optimism that the facilities, once completed, would significantly improve access to quality education and primary healthcare, especially for children, mothers, and the elderly.

The Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, commended the MP and the Municipal Assembly for their collaborative approach to development.

He urged contractors to adhere strictly to timelines and quality standards to ensure value for money. Rev. Amenaki (MCE) assured residents of the Assembly’s commitment to monitoring and supporting the works to completion.

The projects launched include the following:

1. Sod-cutting for the building of a KG block at Fiagbedu RC Basic School – This project aims to provide a safe and child-friendly learning environment for early learners, helping to reduce congestion and improve foundational education in the community.

2. Sod-cutting for the building of a six-unit classroom block for Law Memorial School at Tadzewu – The new classroom block is expected to enhance teaching and learning by addressing overcrowding and creating a more conducive academic atmosphere for both pupils and teachers.

3. Sod-cutting for the building of a CHPS compound at Wuti-Kutsinu – This health facility will bring primary healthcare services closer to residents, reducing travel time to distant clinics and improving emergency response within the community.

4. Sod-cutting for the building of a CHPS compound at Adzoatsi – The Adzoatsi CHPS compound is intended to strengthen community-based healthcare delivery, with a focus on maternal, child, and preventive health services.
