The Electoral Commissioner, Jean Mensa in a press statement has postponed the timeline for declaring the 2020 Presidential election results as announced earlier.

The commission earlier today said it will announce the certified election results at 5:00 pm today, Tuesday, December 8, 2020, if it has been able to collate all the results.

But, in a new statement, the commission has extended the timeline till further notice.

The new statement reads;

The Electoral Commission informs the General Public that to ensure the collation of results at the Constituency and Regional Collation Centres across the country is accurate, the EC will extend its intended timeline for declaring the 2020 Presidential election results. The new timeline will be communicated shortly.

The Commission has continually reiterated that transparency, integrity, and fairness are the yardstick by which it conducted the 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections.
